Forklift trucks
What type of forklifts do you have?
We are the NZ distributor for Hangcha forklifts. The Hangcha product range covers everything from hand pallet trucks up to 48 tonne container handlers. We can also offer specialist Aisle master and Combilift equipment.
We offer a wide range of forklift trucks, from some of the world’s leading manufacturers, including Hangcha, Combilift and Aisle-master.
Are your forklifts LPG, petrol, diesel or electric?
All of the above! The choice is yours. From the latest lithium-powered electrical forklifts to heavy-duty machines for such things and timber and steel handling., we have something that’s guaranteed to suit your needs.
Are your forklifts for indoor or outdoor use?
Both! We have such a wide range on offer for every purpose including high lift warehouse machines right through to 4x4 off roaders, we’re sure you will find the right one for you.
Buying a forklift truck
Do you sell forklifts outright or only hire them out?
We sell and lease forklifts, brand new and used, and we also do short-term rentals, so we have something to suit everyone’s budget.
What warranty do your forklifts come with?
All our new forklifts come with a full factory warranty. Used equipment mostly has a limited warranty depending on age and hours worked.
Hiring a forklift truck
Which of your forklifts can I hire?
Our rental fleet covers just about any situation you need a forklift for, from 1.5 to 16 tonne capacity, all types and brands.
How long can I hire a forklift for?
As long as you need it for! From simple day jobs to a long-term lease, whether it’s hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly, we’ve made it easy with an option that suits you.
How much does it cost to rent a forklift?
Rental charges will be calculated on a least-cost basis for the rental time period. Prices will vary depending on the type of forklift you hire, but rental rates will be negotiable depending on usage and operating conditions. Transport to and from site will always be an extra charge over and above the rental. Contact us for an estimate.
Can I also hire forklift attachments?
Yes! A wide range of attachments such as fork extensions, paper roll clamps, carton clamps, push-pulls, etc. is also available with rates also calculated hourly, daily, and weekly.
Should I rent or buy a forklift?
Whether renting or buying a forklift is right for you depends on many factors. If you need a forklift on a permanent basis then either buying or a long term lease are the options the financial structure of your business will decide which is the correct answer for you.
If you have strong cash flow but limited access to capital, then leasing can be an ideal solution. Leasing also means that the equipment is off-Balance Sheet which is a key factor for larger corporates.
If you have the capital available to commit top purchase and can foresee a long life for the machine then buying can really stack up.
The decision is yours and shouldn’t be taken without some serious thought. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for advice. Our experts will be happy to talk about your options and what may be best for your current situation.
Servicing
Do you repair forklifts?
Absolutely. We have been providing first-class service to both forklift owners and our rental customers for over 30 years, keeping forklifts properly maintained and diagnosing problems if a breakdown happens. We handle all makes and models, not just our own Hangcha equipment.
Do I have to bring a forklift to you if it breaks down?
No, we can come to your site and (if possible) repair there. For more complicated jobs, we can transport the machinery back to our workshop and even supply you with a vehicle from our rental fleet at a discounted rate.
I have an old forklift, is that a problem?
No, age is not an issue for our technical experts. Generally we can repair any forklift, regardless of its age, make or model providing parts are still available.
Training
Do I need a forklift license to operate one?
Legally, you only need an NZTA “F” Endorsement on your driver’s license if you’re driving a forklift on a public road.
However, the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 states employees are trained and competent in the job they are doing and the employer will need to provide proof of this if an accident occurs. An Operators Certificate issued by a registered trainer takes care of this requirement.
Do you provide forklift training?
Yes! We offer a forklift operator training course, based on and compliant with the approved Code of Practice for Forklift Driver Training.
If you want to drive a forklift on public roads, then you need a separate course for an “F” endorsement. This is a short course, usually held on the same day and after the basic certificate course is completed.
Do you provide refresher courses?
Yes! Employees need to be sure their drivers are competent behind the wheel, even if they’ve been doing it for years. Refresher courses are currently not mandatory under the law but are strongly recommended every three years by Worksafe.
